Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions we receive most often. Is your question not listed? Please feel free to contact us.
How do I request an appointment?
Use the contact page of the practice you wish to visit. You can find the contact details there or make a request via the form. Briefly mention the reason for your visit. A form request does not yet constitute a confirmed appointment; date, time, and location must first be coordinated with you. For emergencies, please use the phone route.
Can I register as a new patient?
You can indicate via the contact form that you wish to register as a new patient. The practice will discuss with you whether and when a first appointment is possible and what information is needed. A request does not automatically mean you are already registered. Do not send identification or a complete medical file via the web form.
Where will my appointment take place?
Check the location in your appointment confirmation. Orthodontie Helmond and Implantoloog Helmond are parts of the practices in Helmond and do not have their own visiting address on these websites. Ask where you are expected when scheduling. Do not rely solely on a previous visit to another practice within the network if in doubt.
What do I do in case of an emergency or urgent question?
Use the phone contact route of your practice and follow the instructions for the emergency service outside of opening hours. Do not wait for a response via the form or email for urgent complaints. You can find the available practice information on the contact page. A web request does not reserve an emergency appointment.
How can I cancel or reschedule an appointment?
Contact the practice as early as possible. If it concerns a short-term appointment, preferably call and check if your message has been received. The cancellation period and any costs for not showing up follow from the previously communicated practice conditions. This website does not apply an unconfirmed general period for all practices.
What should I bring to a first appointment?
Ask when planning what documents and information the practice needs. Note your questions and discuss relevant changes in your health or medication use with the practitioner. If information from a previous practice is needed, ask how the transfer can take place safely. Do not upload them unsolicited via a regular contact form.
What if I find it stressful to go to the dentist?
When making the appointment, tell what you find stressful and which previous experiences are important. You can request explanations in advance, a calm conversation, and agreements about taking breaks. Discuss with the practitioner what is possible in your situation. It is not promised in advance that every treatment will proceed the same way or be completely painless.
How do I know in advance what a treatment will cost?
Ask for an explanation of the treatment plan and the expected costs, including any follow-up steps. For treatments over €250, a quote is required in advance; for amounts over €500, this must be in writing. Have unclear parts clarified. A quote does not guarantee reimbursement by your insurer.
Are dental costs reimbursed by my insurance?
That depends on your age, the treatment, and your insurance. The basic insurance covers a lot of dental care for children, but not every treatment. For adults, regular periodic check-ups usually do not fall under the basic insurance. Ask your insurer with the treatment codes what reimbursement and conditions apply in your specific situation.
Can I pay a bill in installments?
Ask the sender of your bill before the due date. If you receive a bill from Infomedics, use their official information about payment options. An arrangement is not a given and must be confirmed. The practice website cannot promise you a deferral or fixed installment plan.
What if I do not recognize a treatment on my bill?
Contact the practice for an explanation of the treatment and keep the date and invoice number at hand. Ask the sender of the bill what happens with the payment term during the check-up. A question or objection does not automatically stop the payment obligation; therefore, do not ignore a reminder.
Are my dental costs tax-deductible?
Some out-of-pocket healthcare costs may count as specific healthcare costs under certain conditions. Not every bill is deductible, and there is a threshold. Use the information for the correct tax year and consider possible reimbursements. The tax deduction page helps you gather evidence, but does not replace personal tax advice.
How often should I come for a check-up?
Discuss with your practitioner which monitoring schedule suits your oral health. The need for monitoring is not the same for everyone and can change. Ask when you should return and when you should contact them earlier. A general interval on a website does not replace personal advice after examination.
Can I first get information about orthodontics or implants?
You can request a question or consultation to discuss the possibilities. A choice will only follow after assessing your own situation. Ask about alternatives, expected steps, risks, costs, and maintenance. For orthodontics or implantology in Helmond, it is agreed during planning where the conversation will take place.
How do I request access to or correction of my data?
Contact the relevant practice and indicate that you want to make a privacy request. Specify which data the request pertains to, without immediately sending a copy of your identity document. The practice must be able to verify your identity carefully. More information about rights and exceptions can be found in the privacy statement.
Where can I go if I am not satisfied?
You can discuss your experience with the involved practice or submit a complaint in writing. If you prefer not to discuss this directly with the practitioner, ask for the independent complaints officer. The complaints page describes the next steps. An affiliation of one practice does not automatically apply to all practices or practitioners.
Do I need to accept cookies or maps to use the website?
No. You can use the public information and the contact form without allowing Google Maps. Only the external map will then remain blocked. You can change your choice later via Cookie settings at the bottom of the page. Revoking stops the loading of the map but does not delete any data that Google received earlier.
How can I check a BIG registration?
The BIG register link in the footer takes you to the official register. You can search for a healthcare provider there; ask the practitioner for the correct name or BIG number if in doubt. A general link to the register does not prove that every mentioned practice or every employee is registered there separately. Team profiles are not yet published on these websites.
